All applaud goes to the Brugge city council – sports department and the dedicated chairman of the Brugge Cricket Club VZW, Mr. Gurjit Singh. Their untiring work of more than a year of administration has come to end today.

Brugge city council has fully sponsored the pitch and ground. It shows their commitment to developing the cricket sports in the region. Belgium Cricket Federation extends their heartful thanks for such generous cricket development work; and look forward to work more closely with the city council and the club in developing
– the infrastructure further, e.g. indoor cricket facility for winters,
– special training sessions for seniors,
– the juniors section in the club, and
– after -school (na-schoolse) activities.

Brugge Cricket Ground got a new fence and the cricket pitch; which is made and installed by a specialist company from Belgium itself. Brugge city went thru a elaborative selection and decision-making process of selecting the company for commissioning the project. They collected lot of information from the Belgium Cricket Federation and other professional sports companies to correctly execute this project.

Unlike Belgium Cricket Federation, City council finally decided not to select a UK-based companies for executing such projects. It definitely opens a new possibility for Belgian based circlet clubs. Our teams and scheduled matches for the rest of season will benefit from the new pitch and test it to the max.

The new pitch is installed in a different manner than other typical pitches. See pictures and video. Based on the results, we consider to bring/recommend such installations to other grounds in Belgium.

We look forward to receive your feedback.
